Fees
Initial consultation: £30
I charge a reduced fee of £30 for an initial consultation. This consultation is a full 50-minute session in which we can explore what brings you to counselling, and to find out if we would be a good fit to work together. I will also ask you some questions about your current situation. You can ask me any questions you have about the counselling process, and I will also share how I work as a counsellor.
At the end, you may decide you would like to work together, and we can book our first session. Or, you might decide I'm not the right counsellor for you, and that's completely OK.
Regular weekly session: £55
If we decide to work together following the initial consultation, the cost of a weekly 50-minute therapy session is £55. Sessions are paid in advance via bank transfer. I ask for 24 hours' notice for cancellations.
Frequently asked questions
How long does counselling last?
There’s no fixed answer to this. Some people find that six to eight sessions give them what they need; others benefit from longer-term work. This is always your choice, and we can review our work together as we go.
Is everything I share confidential?
Everything discussed in our sessions is held in strict confidence. I work in a completely confidential space, and any notes or details about our sessions are held in a secure filing system. There are some cases in which I would need to break confidentiality, such as if I became aware of an immediate risk to you or another person, as well as certain other scenarios. This would all be explained in more detail in our first session, as well as in our therapeutic contract, and you would have the opportunity to ask me any questions.
What if I don’t know what to talk about?
This is more common than you might think. You don’t need to prepare or arrive with an agenda. Sometimes people start simply by saying ‘I don’t really know where to begin’ — and that’s a perfectly good place to start.
Can another person join my sessions?
No other people, including children, are permitted to be present during our online sessions. This is to protect your sessions as a safe, private space for you alone.
What if I need to cancel a session?
I ask for 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a session.
Do I need to fill out any forms?
Only at the very beginning of our work together. Before we meet for an initial consultation, I will ask you fill out a quick, one-page intake form, which includes your basic contact info and a few other key details.
After our initial consultation, if we decide to work together, I will send you a counselling agreement to read and sign. This agreement helps us establish a clear framework for our work together, and is designed to keep you safe and informed.
I have another question you haven't answered...
Reaching out for therapy can be daunting, and you may very well have questions or worries I haven't addressed here. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me with anything else you would like to ask about counselling.
